I have just switched the laptop on with a plan to finish writing a blog post I started last night, but came across some breaking news that has surprised me.
Diogo Jota, who plays for Liverpool, has reportedly died in a car crash.
The Portuguese footballer was travelling in a car with his brother somewhere in Spain when the crash occurred. The news states that Diogo's brother also perished in the accident.
I'm stunned.
Just the other day, I saw an article as I was browsing the Internet with pictures from his recent wedding. I've actually just looked back at it and the headline is so damn eerie-yet-tragic with today's news. It reads 'Diogo Jota says 'I'm the lucky one' after dream update'. The update being he had married his partner of over ten years.
Such a sad, stunning, story to wake up to.
