I keep finding Celebrity Big Brother news every time I am on TAFKA Twitter or visit newspaper websites this week.
When I do come across this stuff, I have found myself reading what is going on. It has been a long time since I've found myself interested in anything Big Brother.
Anyway, after seeing the articles and video clips, I still haven't felt compelled to seek the show out. What i will say is this:
The programme was birthed on the premise of mixing people from many backgrounds together to see how they interact. It has always been written on the tin - a social experiment.
The creators wanted tension. They wanted ignorance. They wanted people to evolve from that sort of ignorance by learning.
And they wanted this concept to play out to audiences.
That was a different world. If people are going to call for person X to be thrown out because they're being ignorant, then the social experiment has failed.
Or maybe it's simply not suited for modern day?
