Queen of the Ring is about Mildred Burke - a female wrestler who worked between the 1930s and 1950s. She was certainly one of the main names of that era in the business.
Emily Bett Rickards plays Burke in the movie. I know her from when she played Felicity Smoak in Arrow - what was, when it was around, my favourite American TV show.
It's another collision of two of my favourite things with somebody post-Arrow finding work in something about pro wrestling. A few years ago, Stephen Amell - who portrayed Oliver Queen (AKA The Green Arrow) in the programme - starred in Heels: a TV series focusing on the lives of pro wrestling brothers.
The movie had its premiere a couple of nights ago. Its official US release date is tomorrow.
