Crocodile Clickbait

I just fell for another clickbait story on the Mirror website.

Crocodile Dundee Story

As you can see above, the headline reads 'Crocodile Dundee star dies aged 80 as loved ones mark 'the end of an incredible era'.

The immediate thing you'd associate with 'Crocodile Dundee' and 'aged 90' is Paul Hogan, so I clicked on the story thinking the Australian actor had passed away.

But, no.

The story is all about a crocodile which appeared (not starred!) in the 1986 movie.

Burt passed away over the weekend after living longer than the regular life expectancy of that kind of croc.

By the way - I aged Paul Hogan. He is still five years off from hitting the big 9-0.

It's quite a coincidence to have woken up to Crocodile Dundee news this morning. That's because - sometimes within the next few days - I plan to publish the annual 'Christmas TV from the Past' post and Crocodile Dundee will get a mention as it aired during one of the Christmases I'll be covering.

Well.. I'm close to certain it did, anyway!
