The computer company had reached out to warn me of a data breach it had experienced where some information about me was accessed by hackers.
According to Dell, the information obtained illegally were:
1) My name
2) Physical address
2) Physical address
3) Dell hardware and order information, including service tag, item description, date of order and related warranty information
Dell stressed that the stolen information didn't include financial or payment detail, my email address, telephone number or any other things which may be considered 'highly sensitive'.
This is obviously concerning because one would assume ALL my details would be collected together rather than in separate batches.
With that said, I suppose I have to take Dell on its word.
In the meantime, despite Dell saying they 'do not believe there is significant risk given the limited information impacted' (which is BS considering they have my name, address and know I am a Dell customer so could easily send letters to my home about my warranty), I will remain vigilant.
