The Carolina Panthers will now get the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft after agreeing to a deal with the Chicago Bears yesterday.
Chicago, which held the first pick due to closing the 2022 Season with a 3-14 record, will receive an abundance of picks plus a wide receiver for giving up its spot.
The Panthers have given away the ninth overall and second round picks for this year's Draft, a first rounder for next year and a second pick in 2025.
DJ Moore also becomes a Bear as part of this trade.
Now all the focus will go to which quarterback is picked number one.
As of right now, Bryce Young (Alabama) is the betting favourite. However, following last week's NFL Combine, many have questioned Young's height and potential durability as a long-term prospect.
C.J. Stroud - who played his college game at Ohio State - has been number one in a lot of mock drafts that I've read.
Another QB, who had a good showing at the Combine (but may not rank high when viewing his game tape in contrast to both Stroud and Young) is Anthony Richardson from Florida.
I'm obviously keen to see what happens with the Indianapolis Colts - currently holding the fourth overall pick with Young, Stroud and Richardson possibly on their radar.
Unless, of course, Indy deals with Baltimore to get Lamar Jackson - that's another thing I've read in my browse through online mock drafts.
