The Verdict

The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard ended yesterday when the jury came back from deliberations to declare that Heard had to pay damages to her former husband.

I watched a lot of the trial. And when I say 'a lot', I mean A LOT. 

Depp's team absolutely put on a better fight than Heard's. However, I thought that the result would end up being close to a tie. After all, Depp failed to sue The Sun Newspaper in the London courts after its headline called the actor a 'Wife Beater'.

I thought Depp would win the UK case. I guess that, seeing him lose over here, set my expectations low and felt both parties would come out losing.

It was interesting to follow the trial live. It's not something I would like to do again for a very long time, though. It took up - and, if I were to be honest: wasted - a lot of my time.
