I'm a bit late to this party, but I found out the other day that PepsiCo has purchased SodaStream in a deal worth - if I recall correctly - three billion dollars.
Insane money.
I am a SodaStream customer, so the deal intrigues me. I am obviously hoping that we'll see different flavours released. I know for a fact that SodaStream produced Pepsi-branded drinks for certain areas of the US a number of years ago, so I'm hopeful of seeing them here.
What I have noticed is the fact that SodaStream's website and the shops that sell the products haven't been selling the syrups lately. If you were to look on the website right now (12:30PM BST on September 3rd 2018), you'll notice that there are zero syrups in stock. It has been like this for weeks, if not months.
For now, it's a waiting game to see when the stock is replenished. And then - further on down the line - it'll be a game of waiting to see if we get Pepsi products to create at home.
There are interesting times ahead.
