It was interesting to find out that the movie, Robocop, was thirty years old yesterday.
The film was one of my favourites back in the day.
I read the novel that was adapted from the screenplay back when it first came out. I was too young to go to a cinema and watch it, but I did manage to see it when it was released on VHS years later.
Then - when I had Sky TV - I recorded it and must have worn that tape out. One of my memories of the first few months of high school is watching Robocop while eating my breakfast as I prepared to head out to school.
I wrote all about it in 2009 after purchasing the film on DVD. I haven't watched the movie in the eight years since publishing that post, but I did find myself on YouTube viewing a documentary about the movie not so long ago.
One thing I also haven't done is watch the remake. I don't even know if I want to anymore. The original is good enough.
Side Note - There was a Robocop question on The Chase yesterday. Perfect timing!
