I received an email in my inbox from Domino's Pizza on Friday afternoon with the subject title reading 'Feed 4 for £5'.
I'm not stupid.
I knew what the catch was before I opened the mail, I just wanted to see if they were that blatant..
They wanted me to open the email to find that the deal was really to 'Feed 4 for £5 each'.
It's a sad state of affairs when a big company like Domino's has to lower itself to ambiguous subject titles to try and get people to open its mailing.
Instead of deleting the mail, I replied telling them what I thought of their approach. I called them deceptive.
They didn't even reply, which tells me they're happy enough to grab potential customer's attention with subterfuge but are unwilling to accept when they are called out on it.
