The rumours of a budget priced iPhone - the iPhone 5C - were proven to be correct yesterday when the new model was announced by Apple at the same time as the top of the range iPhone 5S.
The price touted for a 16GB version, on a two-year contract, is $99 (£63), So it is cheaper than its predecessors.
I had been hoping that Apple would release a 64GB version of the 5C because I'm running out of space on my 32GB 3GS and don't feel like spending too much as I am waiting on the next iPad launch (hurry up, Apple!).
News that the new iOS will make my current phone almost obsolete means I'll have to start planning my next mobile purchase very soon.
It could very well end up being the iPhone 5S.
Both iPhones will be out later this month.
