A Conspicuous Absence : A Case Why 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Should Be At Raw 1000

One of the names missing from the list of stars returning for WWE's one thousandth episode of Monday Night Raw is 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin.

This could simply be because he is going to appear as a surprise and, if so, then fair enough.

With that noted, if he isn't there, it's a shame.

Austin was the most popular WWE wrestler in the history of the Raw programme. I'd go one further and claim he is the most popular star WWF/E has ever had.

Don't forget, it was Austin's rising star that coincided with WWF fighting back against World Championship Wrestling in 1997.

By 1998 - the year Austin won his first WWF title - Raw had turned the corner and was beating WCW Nitro for viewers each Monday night.
