Chris Jericho caused controversy on WWE's house show event in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Thursday night.
A Brazilian flag somehow ended up in the ring during the bout between Jericho and C.M. Punk. Jericho, stamped on the flag and kicked it out of the ring.
Bad move.
Police stopped the match and ordered Jericho to apologise or face jail. He apparently chose the former but was rushed out of the building and onto an immediate flight to Ecuador to evade arrest.
The situation ended up with World Wrestling Entertainment having to apologise to the Brazilian government. Jericho's punishment was an indefinite suspension.
I'm guessing the Jericho suspension is one of those 'wait until the coast is clear' deals where he has to sit out for a while. With that noted, he was set to go on a hiatus in order to tour with his rock band, Fozzy.
