Who Worked Who?

It was another unique day as a wrestling fan yesterday.

It started off with finding a link to Hulk Hogan's official Twitter account. There are tons of fakes on the site so I was sceptical at first but noticed how Eric Bischoff had endorsed it. Seeing as Bischoff is Hogan's business partner, I went along and read what was written and it all seemed above board.

He even had 'dude' and 'brother' written within some of his messages - I was sold.

I emailed my friends so they could have a read as well.

Then, around seven in the evening, Hogan posted that he and Bischoff had just left a meeting with Dixie Carter and that he had left TNA.

I immediately sent out text messages and offline messages to those who would like to know and wrote up a blog entry which was set to publish at the strike of midnight.

If I can blow my own trumpet for a moment - I was kind of pleased with what I had written for that post.

I then left my computer to make a phone call and was on it for almost an hour.

And this was when all hell broke loose.

In the time before I got back, the Hulk Hogan Twitter account revealed himself to be a fake and that he had fooled Eric Bischoff, Dixie Carter and Hogan's friend - Bubba the Love Sponge - into believing that he was real.

The fraudster then went on to say he was an employee of TNA and had grown disillusioned with his employers and that this was the only way he could get the attention of the boss (Carter).

The person went on and on whilst the main people 'fooled' by the account were trying to send word out not to follow him.

I got the impression that it was a kid screwing around but the more I think about it, the more I am starting to think this is one of Eric Bischoff's work-shoots that he wasted a lot of time creating during his days in charge of World Championship Wrestling.

The fake account is now apparently owned by TNA as there are two tweets on there right now plugging that fact as well as claiming that Hulk Hogan will be joining Twitter during TNA tonight.

For those keeping up, TNA Impact is not a live show and, even more, Hulk Hogan is set to go under the knife for a back operation later today.

Which leads me to come to one conclusion.

Work.
