What's The Mystery?

With my mother being unable to fly for a few months, my father decided that they would go away on a coach trip in August and travel again in September.

The August holiday begins next Monday and was described as a 'Mystery Trip' so I took great pleasure in telling everyone who asked that I didn't know where they were going.

And nor did they.

Until yesterday.

The company sent them the tickets naming the hotel and place they were staying. The letter also revealed what the holidaymakers will be doing each day of the vacation.

I always thought a mystery trip was meant to be an excursion where you didn't know your destination until you were there.

It's a ridiculous way to advertise a holiday.

My father rang to query the mystery and he was told that the company has to tell its customers so they can prepare their suitcases.

Why not just write 'Bring clothes for beachwear' or 'Bring clothing suitable for city breaks' rather than giving the game away a week before the coach departs?

To lighten up the situation, I told my parents that they could have gone on the murder mystery weekend and would have known who did it before they got there.

I got a groan in response.
