Hell, I'd bet that the USA wins that group ahead of them (England), anyway.

I am sitting here absolutely gutted.
Yesterday morning, I woke up and had nothing to do so I decided to look through my own website.
Narcissism at it's finest.
Whilst looking through some of my posts from the end of last year, I saw one titled 'What's so E.A.S.Y about South Africa?' I immediately realised it was about The Sun's 'E.A.S.Y' headline once the World Cup groups had been selected so I decided to reread it.
I called it.
I knew the USA would win that group.
Problem is, I didn't put my money where my mouth was.
Sort of.
You see, a few weeks ago, when doing my bet on the group stages, I had both USA first and England second plus England first and USA second on a permed goliath I was working on.
When it came down to place the bet, I realised that I needed to trim it down a bit otherwise I would have spent far too much.
I deleted the USA first, England second selection.
Going in to yesterday, I had two winners in the Group A and B forecasts. All I needed was both England and the USA to win their games although England had to score at least one more goal than the Americans.
They didn't.
And so I won't win the big return on the bet.
I've faced tons and tons of letdowns throughout my time both in betting and elsewhere so I shouldn't be that annoyed. However, this irks me a lot because I should have listened to my gut instinct from last year.
They say 'there's always another day' and they're right.
I hope.
