It seems that my opinion on Mike Tyson's appearance on this past Monday's edition of Monday Night Raw was not the consensus view.
A lot of people believe WWE were foolish to hype up Tyson as appearing in a match with eighty minutes of build-up as nonsensical.
I don't disagree.
But, how else could they have done it?
It was a one night deal - what if Tyson decided to no-show at the last moment or - better yet - decide that he doesn't want to take part in anything physical?
It could have turned into a nightmare.
I'm not saying that would have happened had the match been advertised a week ago. It just could have turned into a calamity with hold-outs for more money and the like.
I've also heard - and read - some fans talking of a match between Chris Jericho and Mike Tyson at WrestleMania XXVI.
Not so fast.
If Tyson was going to be in a match at WrestleMania, they sure wouldn't have given his first WWE bout away for free on television.
That's the way the business rolls.
