The NFL published the 2009 schedule on Wednesday and I immediately got to work in preparation for the kick-off in September.
As some of you know, I keep account of each team's scores as a way to, for want of a better term, 'research' each game for betting purposes.
Each year, I place this information in a notebook and bought a pad earlier this year in readiness for the release of the schedule.
At the end of the 2008 season, I had created a spreadsheet which helped working out averages. I saved the template and have also added all the information to that so this will hopefully make my job a lot easier come the Autumn.
I usually leave adding each game to the notebooks until the last minute. Each year I have done this, I've promised myself to do it earlier in the year as it's time consuming filling out each page so I usually do them in blocks so as not to waste too much time doing them. This year, however, I went all-out and did it in a little over four hours.
I can now sit back and enjoy the Summer.
