Defending Foley

I'm not going to sit here and complain about TNA crowning Mick Foley their World champion at last night's Lockdown pay-per-view.

I never watch TNA. Well, that's a lie - I did watch an hour of it on Saturday night for the first time in ages.

TNA just isn't my cup of tea.

And I don't drink hot drinks, anyway.

I have read a few message boards this morning and a lot of people are critical of Mick Foley becoming the TNA champion.

The rationale behind their contempt is because the company which markets itself as a place where young wrestlers get a chance to flourish now has a part-time, washed up performer as its standard bearer.

In Foley's defence, all I ask is - Who did he beat?

Sting.

Another part-timer who has seen better days.
