It's WWE's Backlash pay-per-view tonight and I'm going to dedicate today's post to predicting what will happen on the card.
CM Punk vs. Kane
Punk wins.
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat
This is going to be match of the night. I'd like to see Steamboat win this. It should be his last ever match and it would be great to see him go out with a win. It's such a shame these two had to have Roddy Piper, Jimmy Snuka and Mickey Rourke steal their spotlight at WrestleMania earlier this month.
Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy
Word is Jeff Hardy's contract is about to run out and he hasn't shown any inclination to re-sign. He's suffered from burnout and walked away before. If I were WWE, I'd give Matt the victory as he is the long-term talent.
ECW Champion Jack Swagger vs. Christian
I don't think it's time to pull the plug on Swagger. Christian makes for a better challenger in this scenario.
World Heavyweight Champion John Cena vs. Edge
Cena is going to be filming a new movie soon and Smackdown needs to have a world title. Edge is on Smackdown and it makes sense for him to win tonight and bring that belt to his show.
WWE Champion Triple H, Batista & Shane McMahon vs. Randy Orton & The Legacy
If anyone on Triple H's team is pinned by anyone on the opposing team, Orton wins the belt. Ridiculous idea. I would wager on Shane or Batista turning heel and causing the loss. I'd rather it be Batista who turns as I don't like the idea of Shane McMahon being on TV throughout the Summer.
