Thoughts On Herring .vs. Lesnar

In yesterday's post, I noted how I had placed a bet on Heath Herring to beat Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The reason why I think Herring will walk away victor is because Lesnar is inexperienced with cage fighting.

Lesnar's mixed martial arts record stands at 1-1, his UFC record is 0-1 after losing to Frank Mir in January of this year.

Herring, on the other hand, has an overall MMA record of 28-13. His stats in the UFC are a balanced 2-2.

Herring's experience will be the key to victory.

Both of Lesnar's MMA bouts lasted less then two minutes, it's going to be interesting to see how he will be able to cope if this fight goes into the second or third round as Herring has staying power.

Lesnar dominated both his fights but, in the Mir match, he made a rookie mistake and ended up having to submit after being caught in an ankle lock.

Lasting longer in the match will be dangerous for Lesnar. These rookie mistakes I mentioned have a tendency to show up and the longer the match progresses, the more likely he will open himself up for a faux pas that will seal his fate.
