Killer Kowalski

Walter 'Killer' Kowalski died yesterday at the age of eighty-one.

The former wrestler's life support machine had been turned off on August 18th after being unresponsive following a massive heart attack a number of days earlier.

His near two week fight to the death will further fuel the legend of his wrestling character.

One of the most popular tales in the career of Kowalski is how he tore of Yukon Eric's ear during a match. Eric's ear was severed after Kowalski delivered a kneedrop to his foe.

The loss of the ear was an accident - Yukon Eric had badly cauliflowered ears. Therefore, tissue was susceptible to an injury like this. This didn't stop the promoters from claiming the act was intentional, though.

Even the press jumped on this angle.

Kowalski had visited Eric at the hospital and both laughed at how ridiculous he looked in bandages. The newspapers ran with a story the following day centred on how Kowalski showed up at the hospital to laugh at his fallen victim.

It made him even more despicable in the fans' eyes.

In recent years, Kowalski had trained a number of wrestlers. The most notable name being Triple H who has benefited the most from the teachings of his initial mentor.
