Further Review

The DVD of WrestleMania XXIV that I preordered in April finally came last Friday. I haven't been able to watch it all yet.

The third disc was the reason why I bought it in the first place as I wanted to see Ric Flair's Hall of Fame induction speech in its entirety. It is well worth buying the DVD just for that, especially if you are a Ric Flair fan.

I have also managed to watch the Ric Flair .vs. Shawn Michaels match a second time. Those who read my posts after the event will remember I said that I was shocked that some people had rated the bout five stars and I disagreed with them.

I stand by my earlier assessment. This match is in no way a five star match. Everyone knows Shawn Michaels is my number one wrestler of all time and Flair is high on the list so I am not being critical for the sake of it. In fact, this criticism isn't aimed at them - it's aimed at those who rated the match too high. They obviously got caught in the emotion of seeing Ric Flair retire.

I'm not taking anything away from this match. It told a good story and the end was dramatic. It is a great match but has been overrated by some critics.
