158 / 1290

I was in a $5 tournament with over one thousand players last night. I finished in one hundred and fifty-eighth place which was good. But not great.

I played a slow methodical game. Making sure not to get too deep in the chase for good cards. I was laying extremely tight and made it to just before the second break.

Ironically it was the one moment where I strayed from my playbook that I ended up leaving the game.

I was dealt a pair of jacks and was the first to act. As I was under the gun I thought I would chance it and moved all my chips in. Everyone around me decided to fold.

Apart from the big blind. He called.

Can you guess what he had?

Yes, you're right. I sat facing a pair of queens. It was goodnight from me. And them.
