Screwed Again

I have once again been defeated in a tournament when holding a pait of queen as my hole cards. It's getting to the point now where I really do have to consider folding them. They are not doing me any good.

I had entered a $5 tournament on Blue Square Poker yesterday evening and there were eight hundred and eight players. I lasted the first two hours attaining top position throughout the majprty of the game.

I was in sixth position with 45, 000 chips and on the big blind when I was dealt the queens. The tournament leader was at my table and he called the blinds. When it was my time to act I made the all-in move. The leader had over double the amount of chips I had and he called my raise.

He turned over an ace and ten of hearts. I smiled to myself thinking that as long as no ace appears on the board I was going to the top of the leaderboard and then it was only a matter of holding on and making it to the final table.

The board wasn't so helpful to me, though. I hit my third queen but my opponent managed to make a flush thus ending my night in thirty-third place with $15 more than I had invested.

This blog seems to be full of stories of queens working aginst me and I always vow never to play them.

Until the next time, of course.
