A Fun Christmas Read

I thought I'd put up a post today mentioning a book that I have been enjoying this week. I purchased it over the summer, but purposely held off on reading it until a few days before Christmas.

And here's why:

Yes, it's yet another blog post where I write about A Christmas Story, Jean Shepherd or anything to do with the two subjects.

A Christmas Story: Behind the Scenes of a Holiday Classic is written by Caseen Gaines. It's all about how the movie developed from the mind of the great Jean Shepherd and how much of an impact it has had on American culture.

It's jammed packed with behind the scenes pictures and interviews from some of the cast members of the 1983 movie.

Gaines has done an exceptional job on this with all the research he has done. You can tell just by how he writes that he is a fan of the movie.

I probably should have published a post earlier than today and gave some of you time to seek the title out for yourself. With that said, it's something that can be read any time of the year, but I think it is best served as an accompaniment to the movie when you're watching it.
