Backing Southgate (And Failing)

I have just had to delete a few lines of a post that was scheduled to be published today because of Gareth bloody Southgate.

A few days ago, I placed a bet on Southgate to be the next permanent England manager. The wager was placed moments after Roy Hodgson resigned from the post.

Southgate was 8/1 and I thought it was a decent price. This price fell further as the night progressed.

In yesterday's news, it was announced that Southgate would take over on a interim basis so the post that has now been erased was all about how I was holding out hope that he did well in his role and he was given the job full-time.

Within minutes of scheduling the post to be published at 9am on Thursday morning, new reports began to emerge.

Southgate had turned down the interim role.

Arggggh.
