After all the controversy over how Kraft have fiddled with the recipe to Cadbury's Creme Egg, I took it upon myself to see whether I could tell the difference over the Easter period.
Firstly, I would have had one sooner. I like Creme Eggs, but didn't feel compelled to try them when I learned that the chocolate had changed from a Dairy Milk-kind of flavour to a random chocolate taste.
What did I notice when I tried an egg?
I didn't notice anything at all. I guess the filling is what makes it a Creme Egg for me. That hasn't altered, so I suppose I am one of the minority that wouldn't have noticed the new chocolate recipe had I not read about it in the news.
It'll be interesting to see how the company approaches the 2016 Creme Eggs. Will it be the same as this year or will the backlash prompt them to revert to the old recipe?
