The eighties brought with it some classic movies. A few of these classics involved the Police Academy series of films.
I recently bought the box-set and spent the last few days watching the first two DVDs in the collection. From what I can recall, they seemed to have gone downhill after the third or fourth installment so I am making sure to take my time on the first few.
The movies were a big hit amongst us kids in junior school. The thing that makes me laugh when I look back is - most of the mature jokes were lost on us!
I've often read that there has been plans to produce an eighth edition but I think it's just talk.
The franchise certainly lost itself long before the final movie came out in the mid-nineties. I don't know how they can come back over twenty years later and recreate the humour of the first half of the series.
Still, it's been fun watching them again. Not bad for £17.99 in the HMV sale.
