On The Whistle

I have been using tips from the Racing & Football Outlook to bet on Scandinavian and Intertoto Cup football betting this weekend.

On Saturday I did a Lucky 31 bet and so far I have a 100% record. There is one match remaining which will win me £130. If this game fails then it won't be the end of the world as I am already in profit from the bet after having Newcastle to draw 1-1 at 17/2 as one of my selections.

Today's bet was the most hard to swallow even though I did end up making a profit.

I did a 10p a line Goliath so wagered £24.70. I picked teams playing in Finland, Norway and Sweden One of the selections was for Kooteepee to draw with FC Lahti at 11/5. When I saw those odds I thought the paper must have got their forecast wrong but I kept with it.

Near the end of the game the score was 1-1 and I was gleefully counting how many minutes were left to play. At the same time I was watching the clock counting down on the Swedish team Djurgarden's match as they were winning 1-0 and helping me with their bet.

At the 90th minute in both games goals were scored to ruin the two selections in one fell swoop. Kooteepee scored making their result 2-1 and Djurgarden's oppononents scored an equaliser.

Other results came in my favour along with a few losses but I stil ended up making £10 in profit from the goliath.I have a bad taste in my mouth about the final minute in both of those matches but I keep reminding myself of a phrase I heard quite often on a Saturday morning when watching Saint & Greavsie in the '80's.

It's a funny old game.
