There's A Rambo Prequel In The Works

In yesterday's news, I read that there is a First Blood prequel movie in the works.

The film will be directed by Jalmari Helander and will begin shooting in Thailand later this year. 

I'm unsure how to feel about this project. 

One of the quirks, and most importantly: points, about First Blood is we don't know who John Rambo is. We see him as a stranger and learn about his character as the story develops.

In a way, a new narrative would - kind of - tarnish that aspect of the original film. 

With all that said, I'll watch. I have to. 

The script of the new film is written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. I didn't see First Blood author - David Morrell - mentioned in the two articles I read. I recall he was hopeful that 'Last Blood' - the most recent Rambo movie - would be the.. last.
