I had planned on selecting my top ten Michael Jackson songs for today's post but couldn't arrange them in order of preference.
You see, there are some songs that I use to relate certain events from my life and that would mean me having to make order out of these as well.
So, what I will do is name his main albums (in order) and tell you what I recall about my life when I first heard it.
Off The Wall - I probably heard this in 1987ish when Bad first came out. It hasn't really been one of my favourite Michael Jackson albums because of..
Thriller - My best Michael Jackson album. I first heard this around the time the short film was out in local video shops. There are no songs on here that I dislike. I've bought this album more than any other as I have it on cassette, CD, Special edition CD (2001) and I also bought the 25th anniversary version - which included the DVD and a book - when that came out.
Bad - This was my favourite Michael Jackson album from my childhood. I remember having the T-shirt, bed covers and even went outside Cardiff Arms Park to listen to him. It was always on the walkman I had at the time.
Dangerous - I didn't like this one as much. I guess its release coincided with puberty and me turning to liking dance and rap music.
Invincible - Funnily enough, this one has been critically panned but I like it a lot. I guess it reminds me more of what was going on in my life in 2001 than anything. It was the 'new' Michael Jackson album that came out at a time when I was out partying a lot so there are a few tracks on here that makes me associate with certain people. I guess that's why I like re-listening to it more than any other reason.
