Avenging Force

Back in the late-80's my Father rented a movie titled Avenging Force and for some reason it has remained in my memory.

All I can recall about it is that I watched it on a Sunday morning and it was one of those fighting action films that seemed to be everywhere back then.

I was sitting here at the PC a few days ago and, for no apparent reason, I started thinking of it again and typed the title in the search box on The Internet Movie Database.

The forum on the page dedicated to the movie had a number of users from the USA who were having trouble securing a copy on DVD.

I wasn't surprised, really. It was the kind of film you would expect to be out of production. It has been over twenty years since it came it out after all.

Then, later that evening - I was on Play.com and made a stab in the dark and typed the name in that site's search engine.

It came up!

And at only £2.99.

It seems that the movie was released on Region 2 DVD but has yet to see a resurrection in the country it was made in.

I ordered it immediately and it is now on the desk in front of me.

I know this is one of those films that looked good in the eyes of a near ten year old but not in those of one twenty years older.

When I find time to watch it, I'll tell you if I was right. I'm not holding out much hope.
