Wrasslin.net was launched last week and I have already gotten bored with it. It's not 'bored' as such, it's just that I lost enthusiasm from the moment I put it online.
There were a few things that soured me on the whole website thing last weekend.
The first was the adverts. I put in some code from Adbrite and made it clear I didn't want any adult content. I figured that the majority of the visitors to the site would be young, so I specifically clicked the option to ensure there was no mature content.
Within minutes of the banners going into effect, I had pictures promising 'hot teachers', 'big boobs', 'desperate housewives' and everything and anything in between.
I emailed Adbrite and they responded saying that, despite these pictures being risque, they are not classified under 'adult content'.
Eh? I'd like to see their idea of wholesome family entertainment.
That wasn't the only thing that soured the launch of the site.
I felt that sitting there reviewing SummerSlam live as it happened took away my enjoyment of the show. I think it is best just to be a fan rather than a reporter - in some cases.
That's not to say I am giving up on Wrasslin.net. I am currently thinking of other ways to use this website to it's potential.
Suggestions are welcomed - mail@wrasslin.net
