The Results Are In

The WWE held their conference call for investors today and broke news of the profits generated from WrestleMania XXIV.

The showcase event brought in 1,058,000 buys which was 'approximately $31.3 million of revenues and $7.1 million of profit contribution'.

Of course, this is a great number but - if contrasted with last year - I am sure a few will be underwhelmed with that number.

Last year's event had 1,200,000 buyers, '$31.4 million of revenues and $9.7 million of profit contribution'.

Floyd Mayweather's involvement with this year's event was expected to top the purchases generated from the Donald Trump appearance at WrestleMania XXIII.

It proves that the hair .vs. hair storyline worked better at drawing in viewers than the boxer .vs. wrestler gimmick which was highlighted this year.

Still, it is a good number and I would be happy that the buys weren't too low compared to the previous year.
