Uncertain Times

The United Kingdom is now on lockdown in its attempt to halt the spread of COVID-19.

To say I am scared would be a huge understatement. Watching and reading the news is a terrible experience. However, experiencing it first-hand is OBVIOUSLY the worst experience.

I keep getting emails from companies. I'm on their mailing list because I've either been a current or previous customer and buzzwords that pop up in almost every single one is 'Uncertain Times'.

Others have also used the phrase 'Unprecedented Times'. There are definitely bigger things to worry about, but what we're experiencing today isn't unprecedented considering plagues have wiped out populations since the beginning of time.

One of the things I've always wanted from this blog is to write content that will be read in hundreds of years time. I want someone, like myself, to look back through Internet archives and stumble across some random posts of mine to see what it was like living in the latter part of the 20th Century through some of my nostalgic posts or to have a look at what it was like living in the 21st Century with my present day writings.

I wonder how history is going to tell this story. Is it going to be the 'Uncertain Period'? I think it's going to be remembered as something like that.
