Life And Death

Yesterday evening, I found out that one of our family friends had passed away. She lived into her 90s and, even though it's obviously sad to see her go, I find comfort in knowing that she lived a fulfilled and loved life.

Hers wasn't the only passing I found out about yesterday.

When I was about to turn in for the night, I read that someone I didn't know personally had also passed away.

As I said, I didn't know him personally. However, I had been a 'fan' of his since the mid-2000s and he had been a consistent presence ever since.

He was a funny guy who co-hosted a wrestling podcast that I have been a fan of for many, many years. I would put the house on it being the first wrestling-themed podcast I had ever listened to. And I haven't missed a show. That's how much I loved the banter and humour.

I don't know how old he was, but - going by the things he liked, talked about and more - it's safe to conclude that he was very close to my age.

Which doesn't make it comfortable. Unlike our family friend, he should have had more years ahead of him.

But that's not how life and death works. And that sucks.
