Tommy 'Tiny' Lister passed away last week.
Many people will remember Lister from his roles in many films like Friday, Trespass and The Dark Knight.
I'll remember him as Zeus - Hulk Hogan's nemesis in the WWF when I first started watching American pro wrestling on Sky in 1989.
The 'feud' between he and Hogan not only happened in WWF canon, it also made its way to the silver screen with Lister playing adversary to Rip - the pro wrestler Hogan starred as in the movie called No Holds Barred.
I suppose the role that made him most popular - to audiences outside of pro wrestling - is Deebo. He was the antagonist to the characters played by Ice Cube and Chris Tucker in Friday.
I was a fan of Ice Cube back when the movie came out in 1995. I vividly recall watching the music video to the film by Cube when it aired on an episode of Yo! MTV Raps. Lister appeared not only in the video, but also in snippets of the film that would pop up during it.
'It's Zeus!!' was what I excitedly yelled when I recognised him on my television set.
I'll always consider Zeus to be Lister's best character, only because it involved wrestling, but Deebo was a very close second.
