The (Almost No Longer) Free Agents

What an interesting day it was for NFL business yesterday.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, Tom Brady made it official - he's leaving the New England Patriots.

On top of that, it was finally confirmed that - when he can - Philip Rivers will become the new quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts.

Rivers will sign a one-year deal - worth $25 Million - when the new league year begins after 4PM Eastern Time (8PM GMT) tonight.

I suspected Rivers would join the Colts and had even placed a bet on him doing so. It's kind of a perfect fit for him considering the Colts' head coach - Frank Reich - coached Rivers while at the Chargers.

As for Brady, well - it looks like he'll be on his way to Tampa to play for the Buccaneers.

I had a feeling the Bucs would make a crazy move during the off-season. However, as I wrote on January 1st, I predicted that Andrew Luck would come out of retirement and sign for them.

Wouldn't it be even crazier for me to predict that Luck will be playing for the Pats come week one?!
