Remembering A Day

Yesterday was the nineteenth anniversary of the death of Owen Hart.

I'm sure I'll end up writing a bit more next year with it being the twentieth year of the tragic accident that happened during a live WWF pay-per-view event.

Even though Owen died in the US on May 23rd, with us being five hours ahead, it was sort of on this day for me. I know it's a dumb way to look at it as it really is the 23rd, but I can remember the early hours of the 24th as the situation unfolded on the TV in my living room.

Can remember nearly everything that happened in the hours after the show as well. I recall going to college then getting  a lift into town and a few of us went shopping.

None of them followed wrestling, so I don't even recall telling them about what had happened. Knowing what I'm like - I probably did!

I bought Snoop Dogg's album that came out on that very day. Think it was No Limit Top Dogg, if I recall correctly. It was his second title in as many months after landing at No Limit Records.

I also remember going out that night to a bar. Unlike earlier in the day, the friends I was with then were wrestling fans and knew who Owen Hart was. We were all in shock as we spoke about it.

As I said previously, I'm sure I'll write a proper tribute next year.
