McGregor Silenced

BT Sport ruined UFC 205, in my opinion.

The channel aired the event live in the early hours of Sunday morning. I recorded the show to watch as soon as I woke up as I was hoping to see Ireland's Conor McGregor win against Eddie Alvarez.

Well, McGregor won. I got that. I also saw history made as it was the first time a UFC fighter became a double champ (the win made him lightweight champion. This was added to his featherweight title). What I also saw was the BT Sport censors hard at work.

The BT Sport editors decided the post-fight interview had to be muted at points. It's Conor McGregor. You're going to hear foul language. It's all part of the package.

The irony of all ironies is this is, in all reality, a deadly sport. People bleed, yet it's the foul language that has the channel concerned.

Lame isn't the word.
