The Washed Ticket Story

The press have had a good few weeks turning a non-story into something.

I am referring to the 'Lottery Ticket in the Wash' tale that has been reported nearly everywhere. It has seemed dodgy from the start.

The gist of it is that there is a £33 Million lottery ticket still unaccounted for and someone has claimed that they own the ticket. The problem is, said ticket has accidentally been put in the washing machine and the important information was been washed away.

The important information in question are the barcode, date and other things that Camelot would need to decipher whether it was the real deal.

The numbers managed to stay on the ticket, though. Funny that.

Apparently there have been over one hundred claims for the prize. If one of those people are telling the truth, that means there are ninety-nine false claimants out there. I can't categorise all ninety-nine of them as bullshit artists as some might genuinely feel they had the winning ticket.

A good portion of them are chancers, though.
