Upon hearing of 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper's passing, and writing a blog post about him, I realised that I hadn't seen his movie - They Live - for a while and decided to purchase it.
The DVD was around £3.50 on Amazon so I bought it immediately. All I had to do was wait for it to arrive.
Or so I thought.
I purchased the item on August 1st. It still hadn't arrived yesterday, so I filed a complaint.
The refund was processed almost immediately. I then went back onto Amazon to buy it again.
This time, however, the film was no longer available at the price I tried purchasing it for earlier this month.
It is now at least £34.95 and up to £99.99!
What a bloody rip off.
It's a good film and is Piper's best role ever but I am not even tempted to lay down that kind of money when I almost bought it for ten percent of what they now want.
It's worth noting that these sellers are third party companies. The purchase that was lost in the post was also from a third party seller. Coincidence?
I'll leave that one for you to decide.
