Aussies At The Euros

A number of months ago, I read that Australia was getting an entry into the Eurovision Song Contest.

Not only that - in the same article, I could have sworn I read that Alan Fletcher, who plays Karl Kennedy in Neighbours, was going to be the entrant.

A few days after that, I placed a bet on Australia winning the competition.

My reasoning was simple: it's Australia's first time in it as a guest. But - even more than that - Neighbours is big in Europe.

Oh, and it's celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

He was going to win.

It was then I found out that Alan Fletcher WASN'T going to be performing for his country. The article was nothing but him suggesting he would like to represent the Aussies.

And to add further to my pain, I have now forgotten which sportsbook I placed the wager. I know the odds were quite good when I placed the bet, though. The country is now 10/1 with a number of sports betting firms.

The moral of today's story comes in three parts.

1) Always make sure to do thorough research before placing your bets
2) REMEMBER where you have placed your bet
3) Keep your fingers crossed for Australia tonight
