The college football bowl season begins today, so I spent a few hours yesterday playing around with the stats and my system to see what the scores would be.
This is the first year that there will be a play-off to decide the National champion, so I took particular interest in the semi-final matches to decide which two teams will face-off in the final on January 12th.
Now, before I start, I should point out that the method I use is for fun and mainly for the NFL games. So, what I'm doing here is simply having a guess at what will happen. I'll return to this topic once the champions have been crowned to see whether I had the winner correct.
The system has Oregon (who are 2nd in the rankings) beating third-placed, Florida State.
In the second semi-final, it has 4th ranked,Ohio State, shocking number one Alabama.
I then placed the two winning teams into the system and it selected Oregon as the overall winner.
We'll find out what happens in mid-January.
