Punk Shoots & Scores

I spent Thursday evening listening to the now infamous CM Punk appearance on the Art of Wrestling podcast.

Wow.

The guy was brutally honest about his time in WWE. It's very hard to even imagine him working there ever again.

There's so much in it. He alleges that the company doctor is nothing but a quack who misdiagnosed a serious staph infection for a minor cyst/fatty deposit.

The media did jump on the staph infection story, but some seemed more interested in the fact the company was conniving enough to courier a termination letter to Punk's home on the day of his wedding. Nice!

There were a few things I disagreed with him about. The main one being he thought he shouldn't have done the job to The Rock at the 2013 edition of the Royal Rumble.

Even though I don't agree with his angst about having to lose to The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, he did give a logical reason why he shouldn't have lost to any of the part-time wrestlers he lost to in 2013.

If you haven't heard it - I urge you to go out of your way and just listen to it all.

Don't bother reading snippets or news items about it. Seek it out, listen  and draw your own conclusion from it.

My money is on the majority of listeners leaving with a better understanding of why Punk walked out after this year's Royal Rumble.
