The Bet That Paid Off

When sixteen-year old Harry Wilson made his international debut for Wales on Tuesday night, it made his granddad a proud man.

For two reasons.

Peter Edwards had made a wager when Harry was eighteen months old. He staked on his grandson becoming an international footballer.

Wilson came on as a substitute in Wales' World Cup qualifier against Belgium. By doing so, he became Wales' youngest senior player and made his grandfather's betting slip a golden ticket.

The £50 bet pocketed around £125,000.

What a cool investment that was.
