Amazon In The Console Game?

There's an interesting rumour circulating about Amazon. Apparently, the company is about to dip its toe in the console market.

According to an article I read yesterday, they're developing an Android-based console that will compliment the company's current catalogue of games from their App Marketplace.

When I read the words 'Android console', all I can think of is a box that you hook up to your television with a mobile phone interface. It doesn't strike me as the next step in video gaming.

I'd go so far as to say it sounds like something you can find being sold via Asian EBay sellers. Do a search, you'll see what I mean.

The big dogs can breathe a sigh of relief.

Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony have nothing to fear if this console does hit the shops later this year.
