The front page of yesterday's edition of The Sun had an offer from Ladbrokes. The bookmaker was giving away free £1 bets on the royal baby.
The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William's baby is due fairly soon so the betting firms have put out markets where you can bet on its gender and name.
The sex of the baby being a girl is priced at 1/2. The reason this is priced better than a boy (6/4) is due to the news that got out a number of months ago that Catherine slipped up and accidentally hinted that she was expecting a girl.
Even with that in the back of my mind, I would never lower myself to bet on silly things like that.
Reindeer and iguana racing aside, of course.
