On September 1st 2012, I wrote about ESPN and its UK presence. In the blog post, I speculated that the channel was on its way out.
It seems that I was spot on.
According to an article on Digital Spy, one of the chiefs at Disney announced yesterday that ESPN had experienced losses in the United Kingdom and was 'exploring an exit'.
It's a shame, but not a surprising one.
Losing out on the rights to Premier League football had to have been the killer blow.
There is going to be an exodus of subscribers once the EPL games finish up in May. I think when the football season is over, so will ESPN UK.
I hope its sister channel - ESPN America - stays.
